In May 2017 after delivery of the equipment on site the erection of TRENT 60 Air Intake System (AIS) with new cooling modules was carried out. To fulfil this procedure, it was need to dismantle AIS partially and take out the regular Empty Duct Module (EDM).
TRENT 60 gas turbines with AIS were located inside the building without any lifting tools.
Taking into account placement of the AIS and specific features of erection procedure Advice Turbine Engineering developed the construction of the support platform, special equipment and proprietary technology for the partial disassembly of AIS, rolling EDM out of building and further rolling in and installation of the cooling module.
Installation work on the replacement of EDM to cooling module was carried out in a short time by specialized partner company "ICL-Engineering” LLC . Advice Turbine Engineering provided supervision and maintenance works.
The start-up of TRENT 60 gas turbines with upgraded Air Intake System showed that the cooling of the intake air of gas turbine in the hot summer period from 35 ˚С to 10˚С provides an increase of the available power to 20%.
